VP Merchant Export

VP Merchant Export is a feed export component for VirtueMart. It is a separate product from our VP Merchant Joomla template.

Google Merchant Center

• Creates the Google Shopping feed (RSS 2.0 XML) that Merchant Center reads for Shopping ads and free listings.
• Pick Google product categories from a searchable list of Google's full taxonomy (about 5,600 categories). The list ships with the extension, and one click updates it from Google.
• Validates the check digit of every GTIN and leaves out codes in ranges Google refuses, such as in-store and coupon codes. Products without a valid GTIN fall back to brand and MPN, or to identifier_exists = no.
• Always sends the public guest price, whoever runs the feed. Prices and discounts for shopper groups never reach Google, which has not allowed member prices in price or sale price since July 2025.
• Google requires product images of at least 500 x 500 px from 31 January 2027. Smaller images go out as enlarged copies made with VirtueMart's own resizer. Your originals stay untouched, and the run log lists each image so you can replace it.
• Groups variants with item_group_id. Child products, VirtueMart Multi Variant fields and cart custom field options each become their own item with their own price, colour and size.
• Sends each product category as a full product_type breadcrumb, and uses only the canonical category when one is set.
• Maps your custom fields to colour, size, material, pattern, gender, age group and custom labels 0 to 4.
• Optional shipping weight and dimensions, converted to units Google accepts. Dimensions go out only when all three are set.
• EU energy label (EPREL) codes per product, in the certification structure Google requires.
• Optional sale price from a second VirtueMart price type.
• Skips products that miss a required value, such as a price, description or image, and records the reason in the run log.

Other channels

• Microsoft Merchant Center (Bing Shopping) feed in the Google XML format, with optional seller name and shipping weight.
• Meta catalogue feed for Facebook and Instagram, with a searchable picker for Meta's product categories (about 3,000) and an optional quantity for Facebook and Instagram Shops.
• Amazon Seller Central upload files: Inventory Loader, Price & Quantity, Listing Loader and the category template.
• eBay File Exchange and Seller Hub Reports files in CSV or TSV, with your business policy names and item specifics.

Catalogue, language and pricing

• One profile per channel, and as many profiles as you need, for example one Google feed per language or currency.
• Choose categories and manufacturers, include child products, and export only published or only in-stock products.
• Pick the VirtueMart price type for the feed, so the feed price matches the shop price. Currency conversion uses your VirtueMart exchange rates.
• Feeds in any active store language, with product links to that language's pages.
• Field overrides write one fixed value, such as your brand, into every product.

Scheduling and delivery

• Generate a feed from the admin with a progress bar that reports written and skipped products.
• Refresh feeds automatically with Joomla Scheduled Tasks, a secret web cron URL or a CLI command.
• Each profile has one fixed public feed URL with a copy button. It serves the last generated file, so channel fetches stay fast and never rebuild the feed.
• A run history records the time, trigger, product counts, duration and messages of every generation.

Compatibility

• Joomla 4.3 or later and Joomla 5, with VirtueMart 4 and PHP 8.1 or later.
• One package installs the component with its Scheduler task and console plugins, and enables both plugins.
• Works with any Joomla template.
